City of Chicago - The Residence of Midway Village
6-acre project included the construction of a six-story apartment complex and six, two-story condominium buildings
ERA was selected to provide civil engineering design for The Residence of Midway Village. Located near the northeast corner of Midway Airport, this 6-acre project included the construction of a six-story apartment complex and six two-story condominium buildings. All seven buildings were designed using the innovative “senior suites” design approach. ERA provided engineering and stormwater management design in accordance with City of Chicago standards.
In addition, ERA reviewed structural footing designs in proximity to an existing 60-inch City of Chicago watermain. Because of low pressure in existing mains surrounding the site, ERA designed a unique dual-watermain system for the project, providing a main for domestic water and sprinkler protection services and a separate main for hydrants.
